Miami Independent Contractor Agreement: Marketing and Creative Projects

Darius F. Sanders, Founder of Wi Filings Darius F. Sanders · Founder, Wi Filings · Published 2026-11-03

A Miami marketing or creative project needs a clear asset list, approval process and handoff plan. “Run our social media” can mean designing files, publishing posts, buying ads or managing accounts. Decide which work is included before choosing payment and ownership terms. This guide helps organize those choices for a Florida engagement.

Turn your project details into an agreement — $59

One-time purchase. This is the Florida same-state guided product, not a separate city-specific legal template. The client, contractor and primary work must all be in Florida. Review your answers, a partial sample and key terms before payment. After verified payment, the full PDF is generated automatically and delivered through your secure customer portal.

Florida is selected for you and stays editable. For an engagement involving another state, view the $59 general fill-in template. That option is blank, not state-specific, and requires completion and review. Neither option includes attorney review.

A Miami hospitality-marketing brief: name the actual assets

Hypothetical example: a Miami hospitality business hires a Florida creative provider for a short campaign, with the primary work in Florida. The assignment is marketing content, not property management, booking services or real-estate work. The planning examples below are not complete contract clauses.

  • Video delivery: Specify the number of edited videos, approximate lengths, formats and whether captions are included.
  • Still images and design: Identify the edited files, sizes and any editable source files included in the handoff.
  • Copy: Describe the captions or campaign text, who checks factual claims and whether translation is part of the assignment.
  • Publishing: State whether the provider delivers files only or also schedules and publishes approved material.

Choose Marketing or Creative or design in the builder to match the work. Separate the agreed assets from hoped-for business results. A promise to deliver six videos is different from a promise to generate a particular number of bookings; Wi Filings does not run the campaign or guarantee its performance.

Give revisions and approvals a usable process

Identify the person authorized to approve the work. Decide how feedback will be collected, how many revision rounds are included and what counts as a new brief. If several people review a design separately, conflicting feedback can turn a small revision into an unplanned new assignment.

Discuss how delayed footage, unavailable locations or late approvals affect the schedule and any costs. Put agreed dependencies in the project details. If an additional shoot or campaign is requested, record its scope and price before treating it as part of the original assignment.

Plan media rights and account handoff separately

Prepare a list of client-supplied logos, stock images, music, fonts and other existing materials. Clarify who is responsible for obtaining any permissions or licenses and whether their intended use matches the campaign. The agreement purchase does not obtain those rights for either party.

The builder offers ownership or licensing choices for the work product and a field for background materials. Review those selections against the files you expect to receive. A final video export and an editable project file are different deliverables. Do not assume that an ownership selection transfers rights the provider does not have.

  1. Identify the business-owned accounts and use delegated or role-based access for the work, where the platform supports it.
  2. Specify who pays advertising spend and platform charges, separately from the provider’s fee.
  3. Agree on the final files, any campaign report and the end-of-project handoff.
  4. Revoke delegated access when work ends. Do not place passwords or access tokens into the builder or agreement fields.

City of Miami and Miami-Dade: check the actual jurisdiction

A Miami postal address is not enough to identify every local approval that applies. Use the actual business location and municipality. The City of Miami business-licensing page explains its Certificate of Use and Business Tax Receipt routes, including the sequence after Certificate of Use approval where required. Those resources concern the City of Miami, not every municipality in the county.

The Miami-Dade Tax Collector’s local business tax page explains county receipts and the additional municipal receipt for businesses within a municipality. Confirm the requirements and exemptions for the business and location. Buying a contract does not obtain either receipt.

For a photo or video session, also confirm site access and any applicable filming permissions with the relevant property owner or authority. Do not treat a project agreement, business tax receipt or another city’s approval as permission for every shoot location.

If the provider trades under a name different from its legal identity, also check Florida’s Sunbiz fictitious-name instructions. Fictitious-name registration is a separate public-notice process and does not reserve the name. Enter the actual party identity in the agreement; Wi Filings does not perform that registration with this document purchase.

Keep classification and regulated work outside the sales promise

The agreement records your selections; it does not decide worker status. General marketing content is different from regulated work such as construction or real-estate services. The guided product does not supply specialized terms, licenses or insurance for those activities. The Florida agreement guide covers classification resources and the broader licensing boundary.

Review the project and choose your document

Before opening the builder, have the party details, asset list, revision expectations, payment schedule and ownership choices ready. Use the agreement checklist for the remaining decisions and keep the contract separate from W-9 and 1099-NEC paperwork.

Create your Florida guided agreement — $59 when the client, contractor and primary work are all in Florida. Review your answers, a partial sample and key terms before payment. The full PDF follows verified payment through your secure portal; review it before signing. For another-state or multistate engagement, purchase the general fill-in template, which requires completion and review and is not state-specific.

Common questions

Can a Miami freelancer use this for a Florida marketing or design project?

The guided option supports marketing and creative or design projects where the client, contractor and primary work are all in Florida. Describe the actual work and review whether the self-help document fits your arrangement. Buying does not establish independent-contractor status or supply specialized regulated-service terms.

Is this a Miami-specific legal document?

No. The city examples help you prepare project details for the existing Florida guided product. There is no separate Miami legal template, local office or city compliance certification included. Wi Filings provides the document online from Wisconsin and is not a law firm.

Does the agreement obtain a Miami business tax receipt or permission to film?

No. Business licensing, site access and any applicable filming permissions are separate from the project agreement. Check the authority for the actual business and shoot locations. The City of Miami, other municipalities and Miami-Dade County have distinct responsibilities.

Can a Miami client use the Florida guided option with an out-of-state creative agency?

That is outside this same-state guided product. You can purchase the general fill-in template instead, but it is blank and not tailored to the states involved. Complete and review it for the engagement before signing.

Are campaign results or third-party media rights included in the $59 purchase?

No. The purchase generates the agreement PDF from your selections. It does not run advertising, guarantee leads or sales, obtain music or image licenses, or obtain either party’s signature. Identify the permissions and project responsibilities separately.
